Something that I thought was really fun about D.C. was that there were so many squirrels everywhere you went. You could hear the acorns falling from the trees and then you’d see them dash across the walkway to get it before another squirrel did. They were very entertaining for somebody from an area where squirrels are less visible.

I think this guy was my favorite.

He was giant! You can tell he’d won his fair share of battles by his missing patches of fur, but the shocking part was that he only had one eye. This made it easy to get close enough to him to zoom in nicely while he was drinking.

I think I’ll call him “Patchy”
