fancy cage

Another two-fer! I thought these cards went together, so I decided to post them both today. All images from justjohanna.

Card base is Cranberry Crisp. I never really used it when it was current, but I’m glad I hung on to it. Designer paper is from Cosmo Cricket, and this is the flip/mellow side of the paper. I matted it with a piece of Mellow Moss cardstock. I stamped the fancy cage with my White craft ink and set it aside to dry. When it was ready, I punched the image out with my Giga Marvy Scallop punch and lightly inked the edges with the White craft ink. I also inked the edges of the designer paper panel and card base with the White craft ink.

I used a piece from the Pewter hodge podge hardware kit and secured it to the side of the focal image. I then found this great ribbon in my stash that matched wonderfully! I picked it up during a trip to Fabric Barn (a huge ribbon/fabric warehouse). I adhered the focal image to the designer paper panel with foam tape and then wrapped the ribbon to the back, securing it with some tape.

Next, I stamped Michelle’s little scroll with the White craft ink, taking care to overlap the image onto the card base. I felt like it needed a little something more, so I used my Stickles to add some sparkle to the scroll image.

This card uses the same fancy cage image and the same designer paper. As you can see, the flip side has lots of pattern and color to it. It’s beautiful! This particular one is called Klara from the Dutch Girl collection. Here it is matted with Bordering Blue.

The card base is Old Olive and I used Kraft paper for the focal image. I stamped the fancy cage in Chocolate Chip ink and inked the edges of all layers with the White craft ink. I used the Giga Marvy Scallop Punch for the focal image again, it’s such a nice fit for this image. I added some paper piercing detal along with the three little flowers from Prima.

I hope you all have a nice weekend! We’re having some nice weather around these parts. It actually rained yesterday mornign and we’re still getting a forcast for rain tomorrow. Tonight I am teaching a Christmas card class for my Mom’s church group. I’m excited to share those designs with you in the next couple of weeks!

Happy Friday!
