This was done for TLC132 a couple of weeks ago on Splitcoast.

This wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be. I had contemplated doing the challenge all day and Jen told me to just do one! So I did! 😉

I used more of that cute designer paper from BoBunny called Heart Attack. When you read the directions for the surprise pop-up card, you’ll note that it says to use cardstock for the top panel. The reason for this is because you need a heavy weight paper since the slider part has to be scored and will be moved to reveal the message inside. I found that you can subsitute the cardstock for a heavy weight designer paper and it will work just fine even though it’s not as heavy as the cardstock. You just don’t want to use the thin designer papers for the top panel since they tear easily when you score them or move it a lot.

I used my Coluzzle to cut out the focal image, taking care to not cut around the “zoom”. I then cut around the “zoom” for the “out of the box” look. I then used my Giga Marvy Scallop Oval punch for the mat and pierced it with my paper piercer. Next, I cut a larger bottom mat out of Basic Black with my Coluzle. The focal image was then adhered to the black mat with foam tape to give it more dimension.

I colored the focal image with re-inkers and added Stickles to selected parts of the scooter. I then used my Cuttlebug and Concentric Heart die to cut out a red felt heart, added a button to the middle using linen thread and then adhered it to the back of the scooter.

The only detail you can’t see in the picture is of the pull tab. I used skinny black and white polka-dot ribbon and secured it with a red heart mini brad.
