jj newsletter sketch

Published by at 9:53 pm under cards, stamping

Last week the new justjohanna newsletter went out to e-mailboxes and it had a fun sketch included with it! Today I’m going to share the three samples I made using the sketch that was provided by Kim Frantz who is also on the justjohanna Design Team! All images are from justjohanna.

It’s a fun and simple layout. Great for quick cards or easily spruced up for more detailed cards. For this one I used intertwinded kitties. I had just gotten in an order and was so excited to use some new (to me) images! This one is just darling! I love how the space between their tails make a heart. For this one I used Going Grey as my card base. The designer paper is from doodlebug designs and it’s called Sweetheart Ribbon Stripe. From this paper I pulled out Pink Passion to use as my accent color. The kitties were colored in with Prismacolors and a silver pen was used for their collars. I used my Marvy punches for the focal image, and pierced each scallop then highlighted it with a white gel pen. For the fun wavy strip of paper, I matted a portion with Pink Passion and used my scallop scissors for the trim. I then pierced and highlighted like I did for the focal image. For the finishing touch I used some Stickles to highlight the heart between their tails.

For this one I used gigi right. I think she’s such a cute image. Again, I used my Marvy punches, piercer and white gel pen. The designer paper is from Flair Designs and is called Paradise Paisley. I really like the colors and I colored gigi to match using my Prismacolors. Glorious Green was used for the card base and Pink Passion was used again for the accent color. Stickles were added to gigi’s wing for some extra sparkle.

Okay, for this one I think I was thinking about eating Fruit Loops! LOL! I had fun with the circle dot background. Usually I stamp it in black and then color in the circles, but this time I used my SU! markers to color the image then stamped it to get this fun background! I stamped just beak cause jj mix and colored it in with Prismacolors and used my Marvy punch for the first layer. Instead of scallops, I used my pinking decorative edged scissors and did some basic faux stitching on the Only Orange matt. The wavy strip of paper was matted with Green Galore, cut with the pinking edged scissors and faux stitched to match. Before adhering the wavy stripe, I stamped the circle dot background in Tempting Turquoise on the TT card base for the tone on tone look. As a finishing touch, Stickles was added to the letters in the word “beak”
