Owensredgiraffes

Whew! I completely forgot to get something for Owen’s pre-school teachers. I’m sure it has nothing to do with playing the Wii all weekend. I decided to get them each a gift certificate to Bath and Body Works. Lots of fun stuff to treat yourself to there! So I zoomed over there after taking Owen to pre-school and just finished them up!

I got the tins from Michaels during the holidays. They had them there for Christmastime and were only $1.00 each. Great for quick projects and not expensive! What’s cool about these tins is that they are made to hold gift certificates. The inside has a clear plastic holder that you just snap the gift certificate into.

I kept with the Wild About You theme. Cut my cardstock to the size I wanted using Real Red for the base. I stamped the giraffe in Real Red, then used my Old Olive and Real Red markers to color the flower, huffed then stamped. The sentiment was stamped with Palette Noir Black.

Next I used my ticket corner punch on both layers. The Real Red base was adhered to the tin with sticky strip. The fabulous ribbon was saved from a gift Taylor gave me! She’s so sweet! The ribbon is also adhered with some sticky strip, but only to the Real Red base. I did not adhere it to the back of the tin. The focal image was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and some little blig was added to the flower center.

Super easy!! I’m going to stay on the look out for these tins at Michaels! You never know when they will bring them back. I’m hoping for some pretty pastels for Mother’s Day. That would be pretty!

Keep your eyes open….my Mike’s has them in green check, light blue check and light blue with white and yellow dasies. I saw them on the counter by the register. By the way….love the red tins!

Your valentine’s are so cute! May I ask whose stamps you are using? I thought they might be from stampin up, but I perused the latest catalog and didn’t see. Perhaps I missed it? thanks…
