sprinkled with flowers
Seriously, lovin’ the ATCs!! I need to alter my cool ATC book that I got from Stampin’ Up! so I can organize these babies! This one was super fun for me to do and actually has a lot of doodling.
The ATC base is Old Olive. I cut it so that I had about an inch extra on the bottom. I then scored it at 2 1/2 inches and used my paper snips to cut some grass (hehehehe!), then set the ATC base aside.
The top layer is WW. First I stamped the sentiment, taking care to keep it to the right side. I loved this saying when I saw it and this was my first time using it. It is from Make An Impression.
Next, I cut the “flower” using my Cuttlebug and the Asterisks die. Their funky shape makes a really fun flower! First I cut it out of some patterned paper I had from Bo Bunny Press, then I cut one out of a transparency. I placed them on the ATC to get an idea on where the flower needed to be, then I used my Old Olive marker and doodled a very basic flower stem and leaves.
I then doodled the border to help frame the focal image. I attached the flower with a Pearl Brad (love these things!) and then adhered the focal image to the ATC base. I then folded up the grass and adhered it to the ATC before adding the thin black stitched ribbon that I picked up at Michaels a while ago.
At this point I originally thought I was done, but the blank space next to the flower felt lacking. I searched thru all my stamps for something to add there, but found nothing. I decided that a bee would look really cute there so I doodled the little bee, colored him in with a marker and used my Sakura glitter pen for his wings.
On a side note, I’m happy to say I’m feeling good today. I had a headache that was lingering since the weekend turn ugly on me yesterday and it developed into a migraine. It’s been a while since I’ve had a migraine, but when you have one you always feel like it’s a week instead of hours. I was able to get some good rest (thank you, Vanilla Tylenol PM!) and I woke up feeling refreshed and rested! I plan to take it easy today and enjoy the time I have to myself while Owen is at pre-school by stamping. Yippee!
